‘In my yellow room sunflowers with purple hearts stand out against a yellow background. They’re in a yellow pot on a yellow table,’ mused Gauguin in his memoirs. He described his memories of the Yellow House in Arles and of the Van Gogh’s sunflower still lifes he had seen there. Van Gogh painted this version of the Sunflowers in 1889. Reproduction on linen on a wooden stretcher.
