The Amsterdam insurance broker Andries Bonger (1861-1936), Theo van Gogh’s friend and brother-in-law, developed a great love of French modern art in Paris. He began collecting in 1892, concentrating primarily on the work of his close friends Emile Bernard and Odilon Redon. In this book all of the works in the original collection are reunited for the first time. Van Gogh Museum/Waanders Amsterdam 2009. 158 pages, 230 illustrations, hardcover. Available in Dutch and English.
