This striped wallpaper was designed by Irma Boom, the famous Dutch graphic designer. She took her inspiration from Van Gogh’s The starry night and she reduced his palette to a so-called ‘colour bar code’ in yellow and blue hues. The wallpaper has been used in an exclusive hotel room of the Amsterdam Hilton, which was especially decorated on the occasion of the exhibition Van Gogh and the colours of the night.
