At the recommendation of his art dealer Theo van Gogh, Vincent’s brother, Gauguin made a series of prints based on his own works. His intent in producing this series was to bring his art to the attention of a wide public by making it affordable. The eleven prints, which are on canary-yellow paper, provide an overview of the subjects that preoccupied Gauguin: Breton peasant women, bathers in the sea, the women of Arles, and the exotic landscapes of Martinique. Especially for the exhibition Paul Gauguin - The breakthrough into modernity a detailed replica of the Volpini Suite is available. This replica has been made with the greatest possible care; it is printed with the finest inks on the highest quality paper.
